Christina is the passionate force behind Eh Farms, a small family-run farm in Strathmore just East of Calgary dedicated to raising heritage-breed Mangalitsa pigs. With a deep respect for tradition and sustainable farming, Christina has worked tirelessly to bring the exceptional quality of Mangalitsa pork to chefs, food lovers, and those who appreciate the rich history behind this Hungarian breed.
Her journey with Mangalitsa began with a desire to raise animals in a way that honors their natural instincts while producing some of the finest pork in the world. Eh Farms holds the distinction of being the first farm in Canada to import the Red Mangalitsa. Unlike conventional farming, Mangalitsas take time—up to two years—to reach maturity, developing their signature rich marbling and unparalleled flavor. Christina takes pride in providing them with a free-range lifestyle, where they forage, wallow, and—most importantly—line up for their daily belly rubs! These pigs aren’t just livestock; they’re part of the farm’s heart and soul, each with their own personality (and a love for scratches).
Beyond farming, Christina actively connects with chefs, butchers, and food enthusiasts to share the story of Mangalitsa. Her farm has been featured at major culinary events, from Brewery & The Beast, Terroir, to intimate farm dinners out at the farm, where guests experience the taste and story of this incredible breed firsthand. She also organizes Pigstock "Mangalitsa Festival" bringing together people to celebrate and folks who want to learn more about Hungarian culture and the history behind the Mangalitsa. Eh Farms has also been featured in many magazines; Better Pork, Prairie Hog Country, Culinaire, Avenue and Napjaink.
As a proud advocate for Mangalitsa pork, Christina continues to build relationships from farm to table, ensuring that this Hungarian breed is celebrated in Canada and beyond.
